Cinema Paris
In the 1920s and 1930s, the population of Muros grew, and Ramón París, a great lover of theatre and the world of entertainment, decided to build a new entertainment venue in 1939. The chosen location was on the seafront of the town. The work was completed in 1944. The Cinema París, as the venue came to be known, was not only dedicated to film screenings but also to theatrical, musical and other activities. The cinema closed its doors in 1983.
The building was designed by the A Coruña architect Leoncio Bescansa Casares and belongs to the artistic movements that marked the first decade of the 20th century: Modernism and Eclectic Historicism — a historical typology and architectural style characteristic of cinemas from the first half of the 20th century, very few of which survive today.
